Why Ellen?

As one of the most influential people on the planet, Ellen has always said we need to remember the people of New Orleans. She has always stood strong in asking for our support. Now is the time to ask Ellen for her support and let her know that we’ve not forgotten.

Our goal is to get Ellen’s attention – so let’s do it in every way we can. You can email her, tweet her, and post about it on your Facebook just by clicking below. Send a message to Ellen every single day if that’s what it takes. We will not stop until she’s heard our support loud and clear. So what are you waiting for? The people of New Orleans need us now and Ellen could sure help get the word out! Just think about how much we can do with her support.

I wrote my memoir about being a tourist trapped in the Superdome during Katrina. It's called "Diary From the Dome, Reflections on Fear and Privilege During Katrina". If there's a way I can get a copy into one of her producer's hands it would definitely help educate and alert her to some of the needs that are still unmet, and how NOLA citizens were demonized by much of the press.
Ellen, i know you deeply care about the people of new orleans and that you want to help them in any way you can. If you could mention this link on your show it would help more than you know.

I know you won't disappoint,
Travis Jones
Getting the message that New Orleans is still in need of help is important, so why dont we try to contact...everyone! Oprah, Regis and Kelly, Ellen and everyone else we can think of! We need as much help we can get so lets do the best we can and go for it! :)
Ellen was trying to get george clooney on the show for a stretch of time and finally did it, a few of the outlandish ways I saw her try to get his attention I think you should do as well. The first, bring a donkey to her show/office with a sign that says, ELLEN HELP US SUPPORT NOLA! The second, stand outside the studio lot in a cow suit with a sign that goes over the shoulders to be read on both sides, that again says, ELLEN HELP US SUPPORT NOLA! It worked for her!

One of my good friends is closely related to Ellen. I will tell her to contact Ellen about the cause!
Thanks for all the great ideas everyone! We are trying to get students of all ages gathered in the LA area to spend an afternoon outside of Ellen's studio...wearing RememberNOLA t-shirts and bearing gifts for the crew.

If you are from the LA area, or know someone who is, and would like to get more involved in this movement, let us know; comment here. Thanks again for your support and keep the ideas coming!
When are we going to LA? I am there willing to camp out in front of the Ellen show all day and all night.
There are many injustices on the world. But from improperly built levies to improper and too little help from the US GOV't that has never been addressed, tis nation should not turn it's back on any citizen due to location, gender or sexual preference. It is all wrong. From a straight New Englander. Please don't stop speaking up for New Orleans.

Thank you,

Joe Rich
This was one of our nation's horrible tragedy. The people of New Orleans should never be forgotten. I applaud your effort to continue the remembrance of that sad day. Bless you Ellen. People please continue to help rebuild one of our most cultural state's. R.I.P. to those who didn't survive.
i was born, raised, and still reside in New Orleans East.. I only lost every material thing that i ever had ( i say only because i was blessed enough to have many of my friends and family make it out alive) Im 20 years only and in college. logging in to this site and downloading the badge was extra credit for my class and i assume my professor did this for all of his classes. After seeing this i am truly glad he did this, i will help any way i can.
