Why Are We Doing This?
This is about people. It’s in our name, People to People. Summer 2010 marks the 5th year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and the $100 billion path of destruction left in her wake. Over 75% of the city flooded, thousands of people lost their lives, and another 800,000 forced from the area. To this day, massive sections of New Orleans, LA (NOLA) still remain bare - no schools, no homes, nothing.
This is our opportunity to stand up with the people of New Orleans. Although a lot has been done, it’s easy to forget that everything is not right in NOLA – there is a continuing disaster and it cannot be forgotten. Download the badge, upload your pic and get involved. Once you’re in, share this site with your friends and get everyone you know involved.
You helped People to People Ambassador Programs donate $50,000 to a worthy charity and the people of New Orleans. But this is only half of what we should be doing. We need you to display the badge everywhere you can, then get behind a cause you believe in doing. So we ask, are you in? Will you stand up with us and tell the people of New Orleans that we’ve not forgotten? This is about people and that’s why we’re doing this!
